Welcome to the home page of the 2010 International Conference on Student Success! If you are interested in learning more about how to help students succeed in high school and postsecondary education, this is the event. Over 300 people will join us in Chicago this June to share and network about issues related to student retention and persistence.
This the fifth annual conference, sponsored by the Educational Policy Institute and Hobsons.
Guest speakers include Freeman A. Hrabowski, III, President of The University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and Reginald Wilkinson, President of the Ohio College Access Network.
Dr. Hrabowski is well known for his focus on science and math education, with special emphasis on minority participation and performance. He currently chairs the National Academies’ Committee on Underrepresented Groups and the Science & Engineering Workforce Pipeline. He has authored numerous articles and co-authored two books, Beating the Odds and Overcoming the Odds (Oxford University Press), focusing on parenting and high-achieving African American males and females in science.
At OCAN, Dr. Wilkinson helps coordinated college access programs across Ohio and served as the Executive Director of the Business Alliance on Higher Education and the Economy.
In addition, over 50 concurrent sessions will focus on issues of access and opportunity in secondary and postsecondary education, as well as pre-conference workshops. Click on the side bar for further information.
