Evaluation Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded the Virginia-based Educational Policy Institute a one-year contract to evaluate the College Success Foundation – District of Columbia (CSF-DC).
CSF-DC has provided approximately 1,200 scholarships totaling $25 million to DC-area youth since 2008. Over 81 students have graduated from college with 700 still in the pipeline. “We’re looking forward to working closely with CSF-DC this year,” says EPI President Watson Scott Swail. “This program has helped hundreds of students prepare, matriculate, and succeed in postsecondary education over the last seven years. We are privileged to be able to assist CSF-DC in their quest to better understand their program and improve core services.”
Over the course of 2015, the Educational Policy Institute will conduct formative and summative evaluations of three core CSF-DC programs: the DC Achievers Scholarship Program, the CSF-DC HERO Program, and the DC Leadership 1000 Scholarship. The findings of this study will help CSF-DC improve the efficacy of their programs and become self sufficient in funding.
The evaluation begins in January 2015 and will conclude in December 2015.
