VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, July 28, 2017 — The Educational Policy Institute (EPI) is pleased to announce SwailLandis, a new educational consulting firm focused on developing solutions for student success.
For almost two decades, EPI has provided research and evaluation solutions for organizations, schools, and colleges. In addition, EPI’s annual retention conferences and Retention 101 workshops for professionals serving at institutions of higher education have become a staple of EPI services to the community. The creation of SwailLandis provides a unique opportunity to expand EPI’s resources for institutions.
SwailLandis is led by Dr. Watson Scott Swail and Ms. Kimberly Landis. Swail is the President & CEO of EPI and is a well-known researcher and international expert on student retention and success. Landis served as the Vice President of EPI and as a director of a college access program in Ohio for over a decade. Together, they have 45 years of extensive expertise on the issues that impact P-20 systems and schools, colleges, and universities in the US and Canada.
According to Principal Watson Scott Swail, SwailLandis will be filling a major void in American education. “We learned over the years that professionals at educational institutions ultimately want and need solutions. They understand the challenges. What they want are strategies for student success.” SwailLandis Principal Kimberly Landis echoed Swail’s statement. “Because schools and colleges want solutions, the best way to meet that need is by bringing together some of the highest level of professionals in the business. We’ve done that.”
SwailLandis brings together experts from around the US and Canada who possess deep knowledge, experience, and expertise in areas including strategic planning, enrollment management, education administration, research and evaluation, predictive analytics, and institutional branding and marketing. SwailLandis will leverage and develop web-based tools from EPI and our strategic partners, including Institutional Student Retention Assessment and the Retention Calculator, with more tools becoming available soon. The strength of SwailLandis resides in its progressive and comprehensive consortium of highly-skilled and practiced Associates:
