Tuition Versus Total Revenue in Public Higher Education

1990-2015

 

The graphic below provides data from the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO) organization which illustrates the ratio of net tuition per student versus total revenues in public higher education over time. Tuition now aacounts for almost half of all public higher education revenues across the United States, rising from 25 percent in 1900 to 46.5 percent in 2015.
